Coping Together is a local nonprofit cancer support group that supports all cancers. Founded by two women, Nan Hasting who is a two-time cancer survivor and Michele Hartman who’s late husband, Randy fought papillary thyroid cancer for over 23 years.
Michele and Nan quickly realized there wasn’t a cancer support group in the North Strand. They decided to form a support group and then became a nonprofit. Becoming a nonprofit has allowed Coping Together to assist those battling cancer with their day to day bills such as electric, grocery, gas, and phone. Most importantly all their assistance stays in Horry County. There is no administrative overhead Coping Together is strictly a volunteer-based organization.
